Biographical Sketch of Jennifer Higgins, Ph.D.
Cooley Dickinson Hospital
A graduate of the Gerontology Ph.D. Program at the University of Massachusetts, Dr. Higgins’ professional career in gerontology spans nearly 20 years. For her dissertation, she conducted a nationwide study of senior center gambling policies designed to regulate problem gambling. Results of the analyses of this dissertation have been published in the Journal of Aging and Social Policy and the Journal of Aging Studies.
Dr. Higgins has conducted policy analyses and participated in numerous research projects at the University of Massachusetts/Boston, the Northampton Council on Aging, and the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling.
Today Dr. Higgins recruits patients for clinical trials conducted at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and furnishes clinical trial sponsor representatives with cutting-edge research propositions. In addition to the tremendous pleasure derived from her professional pursuits, Dr. Higgins experiences the greatest joy in living every little moment to its fullest with her wonderful son Killian Venman.
